Deceptively Simple
World of Statistical Thinking”
IDS
Educational Workshop
Thursday, September 30, 2010
The IDS client services team is offering an
educational workshop for you on Thursday, September 30, 2010.
The full day session will be at Lansing Community College MTech
Conference Center. Space is limited, so be sure to register
early!
The presenter for the day is Davis Balestracci.
During this session, Davis will introduce the concept of “data
sanity” and review the most commonly misused data analyses and
displays (data tables, bar graphs, and trend lines), and present
three simple statistical tools that can help create a common
organizational "language" for deeper, more productive
conversations about data issues. All attendees will need
to bring a laptop computer with MS Excel for “hands on”
experience.
The cost associated for the
educational workshop is $75 per
participant. Please see attached brochure for additional
workshop information.
There are two ways to register, either complete
the registration form in the workshop brochure and fax to MHA
at 517-703-0620 or register for the
event online using this link:

MIDB:
The Michigan Inpatient Data Base (MIDB) is a comprehensive source of all-payer,
patient - level data that includes virtually all inpatient
activity at Michigan acute care hospitals. With the IDS, users
can run reports to obtain detailed information, including
discharges by zip code, MS-DRG, hospital, or any other field in
the system.
MODB:
The Michigan Outpatient Data Base (MODB) contains patient-level data for select
outpatient services at participating hospitals, and some
hospital owned surgery centers. Like the MIDB, users can run
reports in the IDS to obtain detailed information, including
procedures by zip code, county, hospital, or any other field in
the system. More....
